Hydro Metallurgy
Hydrometallurgy is a way of getting metals from their ores. It’s a method in extractive metallurgy that uses water-based chemistry to recover metals from ores, concentrates, and recycled materials. Other techniques that go along with hydrometallurgy include pyrometallurgy, vapour metallurgy, and molten salt electrometallurgy. Hydrometallurgy is usually divided into three main areas.
- Leaching.
- Solution concentration and purification
- Metal or metal compound recovery
These processes use very corrosive acid for dissolution of metals.
GT has ability to deal with the highest corrosive media thanks to our grades GT-FLON and GT OXY FLON.
Erosion and fouling are parameters to take in contact. Processes could be very dirty and contain hard particles.
Thanks to our feature C-HARD we can extend lifetime of equipment in such cases.
