Traditional graphite impregnated with phenolic resin or with “fake” superficial PTFE impregnation have very limited lifetime especially at high temperature.
Many mixed acids composition exist depending on the type of metals to pickle.
Sulfonitric acid, phosphonitric acid, phosphoric and sulfuric acid which are all very corrosive against traditional phenolic resin impregnated graphite. GT, thanks to GT FLON grade allows to handle such media for most applications of pickling.
Actual suppliers of cheap and unreliable solutions had damaged for years graphite heat exchangers application for carbon steel pickling.

Erosion and fouling are parameters to take in contact. Processes could be very dirty and contain hard particles.
Thanks to our feature C-HARD we can extend lifetime of equipment in such cases.
