Chlorine
When using graphite in the presence of chlorine, there are limitations, especially with phenolic resin impregnated graphite, which has a maximum temperature limit of 80°C and should not be exposed to water.
GT has developed special grades like GT FLON, GT CARB+ and GT SIC that can withstand higher temperatures, up to 280°C at 100% concentration. In the presence of water, graphite can be oxidized, but our GT OXY FLON grade outperforms other materials in such situations.
Testing for corrosion can be arranged upon request.
