Nitric Acid

It’s important to note that nitric acid oxidizes graphite structures over 50% concentration even at room temperature, and phenolic resin is not recommended due to rapid corrosion. GT has developed GT FLON, a grade that can withstand corrosion over a range of concentrations and temperatures, up to approximately 50% concentration at 120°C. This grade is widely used in stainless steel pickling applications for mixed acid heaters. Testing for corrosion can be arranged upon request.
Our grade GT SIC is adopted for this media for higher temp & concentration.
