It’s worth noting that these chemical compounds do not corrode any of our graphite grades. However, potential reliability issues may arise when these compounds are mixed with other acids or reactants that can corrode phenolic resin-impregnated graphite. Some compounds may also cause swelling in phenolic resin, creating internal stress and leading to premature equipment failure.

To address these challenges, GT has developed a solution by replacing phenolic resin with PTFE resin, our grade GT FLON, which is not sensitive to solvent swelling effects. Corrosion tests or sample requests can be arranged upon request.
